This motor has great quality at a great price. I have about 30-35 flights on it and it is very reliable. Only problem is, it is lacking power compared to other 60cc engines like an EME 60 or GP 61. I have it in an Pilot-RC extra NG 92” and it hardly has the power to pull out of a hover. If I had to recommend an engine for 3D I would probably say that the VVRC 70 would be your better bet. But for a reliable single piston engine you can’t beat this engine.
This was my first VVRC engine. I have several DLE engines but wanted a rear exhaust 60cc engine for my Skyshark P-40 (82-inch wingspan). I added the Bowman ring. This thing was just a pleasure to break in. It started up quickly without the use of an electric starter and I've haven't made any adjustments to the low or high idle. It just runs perfectly and sounds great!
I put this motor in my Top Flite P-47 which I am flying at NASA Scale events around the country the engine is turning a falcon 23/10 prop. And give the 86” wingspand top Flite P-47 all the power it needs for its beat scale menuvers nothing but 9 s and 10 s in flight it has a great transition but all it’s just Raw power I also bought a second motor and now have it in my Top Flite P-40 just take your time and run it up on first start on ground put at least a tank through it Thanks Tom at VVRC for all that you do!!!! And yes 5 stars all around for great service and just an awesome motor
Have this in my scale competition plane I built last year the engine is a perfect fit inside of my cowl and with the bowmen rings add on it is a absolute power house get this motor while you can you will be glade you did it’s the only 60 Ra out there and tom has mad this awesome !!
