The VVRC Twin 40 is installed in a AJ Slick 540 74" pattern plane. This engine is a perfect match for this size airplane as it will climb as long and as high as you want. Completely trouble free from day one. I Will be buying more of the VVRC engines.
The 40cc twin is an excellent running engine. From the first start this engine has preformed with no bad habits. Still working on tuning it in,
but from the factory settings the engine will not stall. Great product.
No shoe horn needed...........mounted sparkly clean. Out of the box, on the test bench, after I got fuel to the carb, she started right up. After a couple tanks through the carb I cranked in the hi speed a little more than a 1/4 turn and leaned the bottom a tad as well. HOLY MOLY! She's smooth as silk, idle is lower than I expected and she really has a nice hi speed note on fast passes. On THIS particular aircraft, an Ultimate 160, it could use a pinch more power, but she balanced with out ANY add-on wt and gives me enough power to hover n pop top, but not quite enough to "pull" out of a hover with any authority, my flying style anyway on a 14.5lb AUW aircraft.
She's an easy starting, smooth running, and reliable baby twin that just feels good. Don't be afraid..............send it!!!!!
I bought this used because I need a small twin to fit inside the cowl of a warbird I built. The plane weighs about 22 lbs with an 81 inch wing span. I live at 4000 ft altitude so I have to de-prop the engine to a 20x8 prop which turns right around 6000 rpm. It runs smoothly and if I don't initially flood it, starts right up. For the money, this engine is sweet.
guys i was looking for a twin for my Balsa USA i built so i called Tom and asked for any recommendations for a twin i wanted the sound and power if need to get out of the way. OMG this twin has it all and it fit perfect in my cowl with only cutting for mufflers> haven't had to adjust anything ever and it starts on a few flip's every time the plug distance is sooo short and it powers like a 55cc even trhough so yes its a overpowered 1/4 scale pup but lets tell the truth it makes the bird so much more fun to do maneuver like a rolling circle Thanks Tom !!! VVRC Rocks!!!
I put my VVRC 40 twin in a giant big stick and it pulls it vertical without any hesitation. I own a few twins and this is by far the strongest and smoothest I have or have seen.
I bought this engine to power an EF 74" laser and it has been a good one, I've run about 2 gallons through it and only leaned the low end out a tad. This engine starts easily by hand is smooth with little vibration compared to the single cylinder engines I own. Power is outstanding with a 21x8 falcon propeller. Valley View is a great place to buy quality RC products and customer service is top notch.
Mine is instaled in a hanger 9 valiant .. tons of power runs great almost unlimited vertical with a 21x8 xoar. Sounds good idles good starts easy and fits in the cowl nicely. Has impressed a few people at the fild that fly with a da 85 ext... vvrc has excellent customer service from my limited expericence talking to them ... a good thing imo...
Great running engine, Just finished running it in on the test stand. Idles SMOOTH and after minor Carb adjustments, Its a WINNER!!!! Special Thanks to Tammy for hooking Me up with a New Header and Canister, Can't wait for SPRING to Fly it THANKS AGAIN VVRC Your the BEST!!!!!!
This VVRC/RCGF-40cc Twin Gas Engine 1/4-32 "Generation 2 has been a gas and go engine. After the first gallon of fuel, I've had to lean the needles a tad bit as the motor is beginning to wear in. This motor is easy to hand start and has run without issues since I installed in an Extreme Flight 78" Extra 300. I initially set the needles before the first flight. The break-in process is done in the air. The idle on this motor is very consistent. Overall, it's a very easy motor to tune. The transition from idle to full throttle is seamless and it's a very dependable. It pulls my 78" Extra 300 around like a rag doll. The Customer service at VVRC is amazing. So, you get the best of both worlds. A solid product and great Customer service.
You fixed my 40 twice for me last year. I have been sitting here thinking about that engine and just want to say thank you for what you do. The engine is running great now. I have almost 5 gals thru it this time with no hiccups and more power than it ever had. It is running so good that so many people ask what engine and I tell them they have to get one of these engines. My good friend got one of your new generation 40 and he really is liking that one also. My question is can you use version 2 exhaust on a generation 2 motor. His is way louder than mine and he wants to quiet it up a little. Anyway just wanted to let you know I really appreciate what you have done for my engine. I will always recommend VVRC.
I love my VVRC and I can’t tell you how excited I am that I’ll get to continue using it. Its really been one of my best engines I’ve owned. In all my flights I’ve only had it quit twice. One of those times is when I ran it out of gas.
Thanks again Tom!!
