I decided to follow the manual running the engine for 10 minutes before flying. Running the engine on a test stand. The carb pumped gas with the choke closed in a couple flips of the prop. Ignition on the engine fired on second flip. Chock open the engine was running with the second flip of the prop. On the last of the third 12 oz tank of fuel I was able to get a good reliable idle and a clean top end with minimal carb adjustments. I ordered the engine with Bowman ring and used Red Line oil. The engine is going in a quarter scale WW1 biplane so I wanted a reliable engine.
I believe I got one.
